The official opening of our new facility at 87 Bierutowska Street in Wrocław and the extension of its manufacturing authorisation have been two major milestones for US Pharmacia in recent weeks. The ceremony marked the completion of the design and construction phase, while the decision by Poland’s Chief Pharmaceutical Inspectorate (GIF) enables us to transfer the full range of manufacturing operations previously carried out at our Ziębicka Street site to the new facility.

Official opening

On 17 September 2026, we celebrated the opening of our new facility at the National Forum of Music in Wrocław, together with employees, business partners and invited guests. The event was an opportunity to thank the individuals and teams involved in the project. It also marked the symbolic completion of construction and preparations for operations at the new site.

GIF authorisations and the start of operations

Operations at the Bierutowska facility are being launched in stages. In May, following a successful inspection by the Chief Pharmaceutical Inspectorate, we received a manufacturing authorisation covering packaging, quality control and storage. This enabled us to begin packaging medicinal products at the new site.

In early October, the authorisation was extended to cover further production processes, including the manufacture of solid dosage forms such as tablets and powders. This allows us to transfer the full range of operations previously carried out at our Ziębicka Street site to the new facility.

Increased capacity and technology development

The new facility provides room to increase production capacity and develop our manufacturing technologies. It will ultimately allow us to double our annual capacity to 5 billion tablets and sachets.

At Bierutowska, we will continue to develop hard capsule manufacturing, which began at the Ziębicka site, while also developing soft capsule manufacturing and wet granulation capabilities. Expanding our technological capabilities will increase production flexibility and allow us to broaden our contract manufacturing offering for external partners.
