In today’s business world, the onboarding process has become not just a formality, but a key element that determines how a new employee will find his or her way in the organization. In our company, we attach great importance to this process, as it is the first step to building a strong and committed team, as well as getting to know us the development of the employee in the new workplace.

First impressions matter

Onboarding starts from the first day of work. It’s that moment when a new employee forms his or her first perceptions about the employer and organizational culture. The implementation process is arranged and planned in our company. In the first few days, the new person receives training that introduces him or her to the most important aspects of the company’s operations. I receive, depending on the position, work equipment or a set of protective clothing, as well as a welcome package. The package includes, among other things. supplements from our portfolio – this is the first step to getting to know our products.

The next step is implementation into their individual duties. New employees have mentors who train them on their next tasks and responsibilities. The mentor is also the person to whom the new employee can turn with all his questions, which are many in the first days.

Training and development

Training is an important part of onboarding. New employees begin training with the simplest and most basic tasks and gradually move on to those that are increasingly complex. In many departments, before one begins to perform the duties in question independently, there is an exam that tests the skills acquired. After passing it, the employee begins to work independently.

The continuous improvement of our skills does not end with the onboarding process. Employees regularly participate in training courses, both organized internally and by external companies.

Feedback and support

Feedback is very important to us. A new employee (and not only 😊 ) regularly receives feedback on how their work is evaluated, what they do well, and what needs to be improved. Feedback also works the other way – we ask new employees how they evaluate our company and the implementation process. New people in the organization are able to evaluate our processes with a fresh eye and often suggest very interesting improvements.

Summary

Onboarding is not only a process of adaptation to a new workplace, but also an investment in the future of the employee and the company. At US Pharmacia, we take it seriously because we know that well-executed onboarding translates into better performance, higher engagement and overall job satisfaction.
