In today’s business world, onboarding is no longer just a formality – it has become a crucial element that determines how a new employee finds their place within an organization. At US Pharmacia, we place great importance on this process, as it is the first step in building a strong and engaged team, as well as supporting employee development in a new workplace.
First Impressions Matter
Onboarding begins on the very first day of work. This is the moment when a new employee forms their initial impressions of the employer and organizational culture. At our company, the onboarding process is well structured and carefully planned.During the first days, new employees participate in training sessions that introduce them to the most important aspects of how the company operates. Depending on the position, they receive work equipment or a full set of protective clothing, as well as a welcome package. The package includes, among other things, supplements from our portfolio – a first opportunity to get to know our products.
Individual Role Integration
The next step is onboarding into individual responsibilities. New employees are assigned mentors who train them in subsequent tasks and responsibilities. The mentor is also the go-to person for any questions – and there are usually many during the first days.
Training and Development
Training is a key part of the onboarding process. New employees start with the simplest and most basic tasks and gradually move on to more complex ones. In many departments, before performing tasks independently, employees must pass an exam that verifies their acquired skills. After successfully completing it, they begin working independently.
Continuous skill development does not end with onboarding. Employees regularly participate in training sessions, both internal and those organized by external providers.
Feedback and Support
Feedback is extremely important to us. New employees (and not only them 😊) regularly receive feedback on how their work is evaluated – what they are doing well and what can be improved.
Feedback also works in the other direction – we ask new employees how they assess our company and the onboarding process. New team members often view our processes with fresh eyes and frequently propose valuable improvements.
Summary
Onboarding is not only a process of adapting to a new workplace, but also an investment in the future of both the employee and the company. At US Pharmacia, we take it seriously because we know that a well-executed onboarding process translates into better results, higher engagement, and overall job satisfaction.
We invite you to join our team and experience firsthand what our onboarding process looks like – from A to Z.
