From Words to Safety: How the Employee Forum Works in the Quality Control Department

An initiative has been launched in the Quality Control Department that shows safety, ergonomics, and work comfort are not just about procedures – they are, above all, about people and conversation. The Employee Forum is a space for open sharing of experiences, ideas, and the real needs of employees.

This is not another formal meeting. It is a platform for genuine collaboration, where ideas are translated into concrete actions and changes that are noticeable in everyday work.

Forum Structure: Practical and Action-Oriented

The Forum takes place once a quarter and consists of four elements: a training introduction, exchange of experiences, group workshop activities, and presentation of outcomes to managers and HSE representatives. The goal of each meeting is to jointly develop practical solutions that address the real needs of our team.

First Meetings: From Theory to Practice

The very first editions of the Forum demonstrated the strong potential of teamwork. One of the topics addressed was the onboarding of new employees in the laboratory. Together, we created a safety poster that clearly and accessibly reminds employees of the most important workplace rules – from protective clothing, through waste segregation principles, to the importance of signage and procedures.

During the following meeting, we focused on working with laboratory glassware. Although commonly used, it is a fragile material that requires special caution. During the workshops, we tested gloves in emergency scenarios, refreshed best practices for pipetting, and proposed new solutions, such as an eco-friendly first aid kit.

Why Does It Work?

The Forum creates space for dialogue and allows familiar topics to be viewed from new perspectives. Thanks to the active involvement of participants, solutions are developed that are tailored to specific needs. This is an approach where every voice matters and has a real impact on how our daily work looks.

We are already planning further editions of the Forum and new topics to explore, including crisis response, work organization, and the safe handling of chemicals.

Together, We Are Changing Reality

The Employee Forum shows that building a safety culture is a process that starts with conversation. Even small changes can significantly improve comfort and safety. Most importantly – everyone can be a part of it.
